Intro Segment
This interactive proposal has been drafted on the possibility of organising yoga retreats on Fitzroy Island.
Below is a proposed 5 day yoga retreat, allowing customers to benefit from an all inclusive experience on Fitzroy Island Resort while taking part in an immersive week of relaxation and healthy living. It is a way to escape their busy lives in order to reconnect with themselves and nature.
One of the main benefits of this proposal is that Fitzroy Island Resort would be managing the retreats in house as an additional service.
Retreat Goals
Offering an all inclusive yoga retreat, so that customers can fully experience Fitzroy Island Resort, while deepening their yoga practice and working on personal growth.
Providing different types of yoga, allowing yogis to learn more about the different styles and deepen their knowledge of the yogic philosophy.
Providing mindfulness and meditation tools that the yogis will be able to take home for further practice.
Using different teaching tools and variations to suit every participant’s level, allowing each yogi to improve their personal yoga practice.
Creating a loving and caring community of yogis.
Giving the space needed for yogis to grow, connect with themselves, and live a transformational journey of self-discovery.
Getting the community involved and engaged in the Fitzroy Island Lifestyle.

Here is a proposal of a yoga retreat schedule, to offer an immersive and all inclusive experience.

Additional Information
As it is a yoga and meditation retreat, there would be 2 yoga classes daily (except for arrival and departure day with one class), as well as meditation practices taught during our daily activities such as at the summit, in the secret garden, or even at the lighthouse. This is to keep the main focus of yoga and wellbeing at the centre of their stay at Fitzroy Island Resort.
Meals should be healthy vegetarian food with a vegan option. Having meals organised in a separate room from the restaurant would allow for exclusivity. This also gives me the option to do some teachings during meals such as Mindful Eating.
Snorkelling time written on the schedule would be done during yogis’ free time. Alternatively, they could decide to do an intro to scuba diving course at their own expense, or to go for a walk at Nudey Beach if preferred.
A Moonlight Circle is a guided safe space to share, be listened to and connect with one another. It is a time for introspection, journaling, openness and inner growth. See attached photo below.
My role in the retreat
Teaching yoga is not only my full time job. It is my passion. I want not only to offer yoga classes at Fitroy Island Resort’s yoga retreat, but to offer our clients a life changing experience that they will take home, talk about and remember for years.
What this means, is that I won’t only be teaching classes, but I will be a full part of the retreat experience by guiding yogis the whole way through. I won’t just be an activity guide, but I will be there to keep the yoga mindset and teachings at the center of our activities. Therefore, as an example walking up the summit will become an activity that will allow the yogis to deepen their knowledge in meditation. The fact I am guiding them during their entire stay, allows them to ask any questions they have, and keep the yogic philosophy and yoga mindset at the centre of the retreat.
Yoga retreat dates
The schedule of the 5 day retreat suggested is suitable any time of the year, as the vinyasa classes are early in the morning to avoid practicing when the weather gets too hot. Therefore, this retreat model could be held multiple times throughout the year. I would suggest to do this retreat two weeks in a row to reduce traveling costs to and from the island, and minimise set up time and costs.
Capacity
I believe that a successful yoga retreat at Fitzroy Island Resort should have a maximum of 12 participants, and a preferred amount of 10 participants. While the vinyasa yoga classes could be comfortably taught in the grassy area in front of the resort, I believe the yin yoga classes should be taught at the Welcome Bay room above Zephyr, to allow for maximum relaxation away from distractions.
Gear needed
In order to offer high quality yoga retreats, by teaching high-end yoga classes adapted to every level, here is the list of gear required (counted for up to 15 participants to ensure supply at all times during the retreat).
15 yoga mats
At least 15 pairs of yoga blocks
At least 15 bolsters
Not required but much needed for beginners: 15 yoga straps
Should you need some help getting the right gear for the retreat, I am happy to work with you to source gear and hopefully secure a deal with few high quality, yet affordable brands I work with.

Total Retreat Quote: $600/day + expenses
